The role of a temporary employee is critical to the day-to-day operation of the university and also provides valuable hands-on experience. Temporary staff fills in during peak or seasonal time periods, and on special projects. Human Resources coordinates this service in partnership with the departments and makes every effort to fill requests for temporary help as needed.

  • Temporary positions requiring less than 20+ hours per week are referred to as temporary intermittent
  • Temporary positions requiring 20+ hours per week or more may be established for a period of time not to exceed 12-consecutive months

  • Customer Service Clerk
  • Office Assistant
  • Data Entry Clerk
  • Receptionist
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Financial Positions

General Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent as well as at least three years of office administrative and/or clerical support work experience
  • Knowledge of routine office practices and procedures along with simple data processing and transmission principals
  • Ability to utilize computer information systems with the ability to read and decipher data on source documents
  • Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy and at a reasonable rate of speed. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with fluency in the English language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered
